The introduction of new office-administered, infusible medications creates unique challenges for physicians, nurses and practice administrators within any medical specialty. Neurology, in particular, is a specialty which until recently had little experience with office-administered products. Now, with multiple treatment regimens requiring office administration, neurology practices need support beyond just clinical/scientific information.
To address these issues, Johns Hopkins Advanced Studies in Medicine conducted a CME/CE program webcast, UTILIZATION OF BIOLOGICS IN THE NEUROLOGY PRACTICE: OPERATIONAL AND REIMBURSEMENT CONSIDERATIONS. Content includes: practical content on infusion as it relates to the neurology practice; patient care benfits of in-office infusion; overview of reimbursement issues, including coverage by private and public payers; medical vs. pharmacy benefits; coding options; tips for effective claims filing; and tools to support getting started with infusion.
